If you’re in SEO, content, or AI you’ve probably seen the same buzzwords thrown around without much depth, and the truth is most people nod along to terms like multi-turn query handling or zero-shot learning without actually knowing how these things work or why they matter in search.

Modern search isn’t about keywords anymore, it’s about context, intent, adaptability, and how fast AI models can connect dots across messy human queries.

So the concepts covered in the second blog of the Gen AI & SEO series are not academic curiosities but active forces shaping search results right now. So think of this less as a glossary and more as a field guide to the concepts you have to know if you want to build strategy that actually works in an AI-driven search environment.


1) Multi-Turn Query Handling

Multi-turn query handling refers to the capability of a system (especially AI or chatbots) to manage a dialogue over multiple exchanges or turns, maintaining context and coherence across each interaction. Instead of treating each query as isolated, the system remembers the previous exchanges to create a more human-like interaction.
