Why an Attic?
Sherlock Holmes famously said, “I consider that a man's brain originally is like a little empty attic, and you have to stock it with such furniture as you choose. A fool takes in all the lumber of every sort that he comes across, so that the knowledge which might be useful to him gets crowded out, or at best is jumbled up with a lot of other things, so that he has a difficulty in laying his hands upon it….”
While I agree that we tend to fill our minds with information that may not be useful in our daily or professional lives, I don't believe we should obsessively focus on specific knowledge like Sherlock Holmes. In my opinion, his way of thinking was not healthy, although he remains one of my favorite characters along with Feluda, Harry Potter, Professor Shonku, and Batman.
As humans, we tend to accumulate a lot of information and emotions each of which do have their uses, though sometimes it can become overwhelming. On this site, you will find some of the many things in my mind attic. It may include personal opinions, advice, or professional opinions. I hope you enjoy reading and feel free to share your thoughts with me.
